CAPS is a professional association for people in the speaking business. Our members are versatile and diverse. They represent all aspects of the speaking business and make their living, or part of their living, speaking to and or working with groups as keynoters, facilitators, coaches and trainers.
CAPS is committed to building a better future for the professional speaking business in Canada. We help our members succeed in their speaking businesses through learning partnerships, market development and professional accreditation. We also support international advancement of the speaking profession through our participation in and support for the Global Speakers Federation (GSF).
To apply for a CAPS Membership, you will be required to provide supporting documents.
For Candidate Membership: you need to supply a list of 10 fee paid engagements listing client / date / amount received in your lifetime (no time limit).
For Professional Membership: You must supply :
1) a list of 20 fee paid engagements listing client / date / amount received in the past 12 months OR
2) a list of paid engagements totaling $25,000 OR
3) a note saying that you do 20 or more engagements as part of a salaried role.
All members agree to abide by the CAPS Code of Professional Ethics as a CAPS member.
